The park's most distinctive feature is The Strand @ Gilbert, also known as Cactus Surf Park — a 25-acre attraction built around a cable wake park and a surf lagoon, plus an inflatable water park and a sand beach, along with dining, rental cabanas, an arcade and aquatic-instruction programs. It's a genuinely unusual amenity for a desert suburb, and it's explicitly designed with water efficiency in mind, using roughly 200 acre-feet of water annually — notably less than a comparable golf course would use — while offering Gilbert residents a service discount.
